In its efforts to keep up with the trend of technological advancement in the 21st century, the management of Ogun State Ministry of Information and Strategy has trained Information Officers on the use and operations of Projector, a veritable device in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for public presentation at events.
Declaring open, the one-day in- house training held at the Governor's Office Press Centre, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, themed "Operation and Use of Projectors in the 21st century" the Coordinating Director in the Ministry, Mr. Lanre Ogunyinka said the training was aimed at improving the capacity of officers especially those at the ICT and New Media Department of the Ministry, adding that it would help in projecting government programmes and policies across the State.
While commending the Director in charge of ICT and New Media Department of the Ministry, Alhaja Kemi Ewedairo-Yusuf for the laudable initiative, Mr. Ogunyinka said the training was apt as it would further equip Information Officers' skill with latest trends in information dissemination using ICT tools as well as fully prepare them with the task ahead.
The Coordinating Director added that as new media is trending and becoming a point of interest to both young and old, the participants should endeavor to take the best out of the training, saying the acquired skill could also serve as a means of earning a living after retirement.
In her welcome address, Alhaja Ewedairo-Yusuf said the training was essential to build capacity of officers and further equip them with the training necessary to project the efforts of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led Administration.
"The Department of ICT and New Media has taken it upon itself to train its officers and inturn train others, so it becomes a general knowledge.
Additionally, the Ministry has commenced plans to embark on cinema shows across the 20 local Government Areas of the State to project the efforts of the State government and therefore makes the training highly essential", she said.
Giving the vote of thanks, the Coordinator of New Media and Website Units, Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye appreciated the management of the Ministry, the resource person, Mr. Olufemi Adebimpe and all participants for their efforts in making the training a success, pledging that all that was learnt would be put into good use to further promote the various programmes and achievements of the State government.
