Your Excellency,

It is my great honour and privilege to be here to give a goodwill message on the occasion of the 45th World Tourism Day Celebration with the theme: "Rethinking Tourism" by OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, today, Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at June 12, Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The World Tourism Day 2022 with the theme: "Rethinking Tourism" has been carefully chosen to discuss the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism sector - destination management organization, travel agencies, transportation services, tour operations, tourist guide, hospitality, accomodation and options for a sustainable resilient recovery.

This year's international conference is also discussing issues related to climate change, community-based tourism, MICE, digital solutions, nature-based tours, sustainable development, special interest travel, tourism marketing promotions, industry resilience, and health and safety.

Your Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, Executive Governor of Ogun State, as a certified tourism practitioner by the Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria and a key player in culture, tourism, travel, hospitality, entertainment and creative industry, I am using this medium to thank you sir, for your magnanimity and Investment in the growth and development of culture and tourism sector in Ogun State. You have taken Ogun State to the global map with the construction of Gateway Citygate, renovation of June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta to the international standard and other tourist attractions/destinations in Ogun State.

*However, permit me sir to humbly request you sir, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ogun State to engage more industry's practitioners and business investors in tourism, hospitality and entertainment industry for partnership opportunities that will translate into more employment opportunities for the teeming youths and women in the state, increase in the Government's IGR and continued promotions of culture, heritage and tourism programs and projects in Ogun State.

Hon. Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Ogun State, Hon. Adijat Moturayo Adeleye-Oladapo, the Permanent Secretary, Barr. Olusegun Olaotan, distinguished Directors, entire members of staff of the Ministry, dignitaries, invited guests, gentlemen and women of the press and security agencies, I thank you all for coming and listening.
