D1 CHARGES JOURNALISTS TO BE FAIR IN THEIR REPORTAGE

          Ogun State Government has called on Journalists operating in State to join in the rebuilding mission of the Government by ensuring accurate and balanced reportage of Government activities to the public.

          The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Adedayo Adeneye gave this charge while on a familiarization visit with Media Aides and Management Team of the Ministry to Correspondents Chapel of the State NUJ in Abeokuta.

          The Commissioner who observed that both the State Government and Correspondents were partners in progress, promising a harmonious working relationship between both parties.

          “We have decided to pay you this visit because of the important role you play in the success story of the present Administration led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun in the past four years and I wish you do more in the years ahead. We shall continue to cooperate with you towards effective discharge of your duties”. Adeneye said.

          He added that little or nothing could be done by Government in projecting its programmes and policies without the full support of both the print and electronic media in the State, noting that their efforts in time past had showcased Government efforts at projecting the State in good light.

          Speaking in the same vein, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Ibikunle Onasanya promised to consolidate on the existing relationship and build more in order to sustain it.

          “We really count on your support so that togetherness, we would move Ogun to its promise land” Onasanya said.

          Speaking earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Mr Rotimi Durojaiye acknowledged the thematic role of the Journalists in the State while seeking for more support in projecting State Government programmes.

          The State NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel Chairman, Mr. Kunle Olayeni, appreciated the Commissioner and his team for paying the chapel a visit, saying that it would strengthen the existing relationship between the two parties. According to him “We have been doing our best in supporting this Government and we would not renege in our efforts” he promised.
