IKIJA-ORILE GETS NEW MONARCH

The new Olu of Ikija-Orile, Oba Babatunde Ayorinde has been installed and presented with a Staff of Office.

Speaking during the event at Ikija-Orile in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun said his administration would continue to promote tradition and culture to engender growth and development of the State.

Governor Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, noted that the roles and contributions of the traditional institution in the society could not be overemphasised, urging the new Monarch to offer value-driven leadership, capable of attracting credible investors to Ikija town.

He stated that mutual relationship and cooperation with other Obas in the Council should be paramount to the new Monarch, saying “Kabiyesi you are expected to be accessible, accommodating and responsive to your people, for you to continue to enjoy their support at all times”.

The Governor assured that his administration would not relent in its commitment to the development of the State in the aspects of infrastructure, Social welfare and well-being, Education, Youth Development, and Agriculture as depicted in the ISEYA mantra.

In her welcome address, the Executive Chairman of the council area, Hon. Kikelomo Delano enjoined the Oba to harness available opportunities around the community and ensure economic development, particularly in farming, fishing, and trading.

 In his acceptance speech, Oba Ayorinde appreciated the state government, while he called on the sons and daughters of Ikija-Orile to support him with their expertise, ideas, and resources to take the community to an enviable position.
