ONABANJO LAUDS OGSG ON TRANSFORMATION, HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

The Ogun State Government has been lauded for its unparalleled achievements that have brought about immense transformations and human developments to every sector of the State, especially at the Local Government level. 

The Chairman, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Ms. Olubukunola Onabanjo, said this at Year 2022 Christmas Carol and End of Year Thanksgiving Service held at the Commission’s Secretariat, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta. 

Onabanjo noted, that the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has given members of the Commission opportunity to serve the people of the State by ensuring the smooth running of activities regarding appointments and regulations of workforce as a Commission.

She emphasized that the main purpose of the events, was to give thanks to God for His faithfulness and protection throughout the year, saying; “the end of the year is marked with bliss, peace and good tidings, for humanity, and prayed that the reason for the season shall continue to glow, manifest and abide in the lives of all the attendees and the Commission".

The Chairman said, the season is a time to express love to one another as well as to build social solidarity amongst all staff, irrespective of their faith, adding that people should not exchange the tradition with other worldly things.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Adeolu Olufowobi, thanked the Chairman and members of the Commission for coming together to put up the programme, despite the Commission’s tight schedule, noting, the event, which enjoyed support and full participation of all staff has brought the Commission back to the limelight again.
 
In his sermon, Pastor T. O. Sholaja advised, that people should not use the time of Christmas to gain favour by using the season to chase cheap popularity, donating gifts to attract the media, saying that the practice was fast gaining ground amongst Christians.

Sholaja urged staff, irrespective of their religious background to always show love and demonstrate godly virtue to others, giving of gifts to the needy in the society not just at the time of yuletide but at all times.
